We’re expecting! In preparation for kitten season – the time of year when pregnant, nursing cats and orphaned kittens flood animal shelters across the nation – we are throwing our annual Kitten Shower.

Baby kitten season typically starts when the weather warms and intact cats reproduce at a more rapid rate than they do during the cooler months. Continuing during the spring and summer, it is not uncommon for our number of animal intakes to triple during this time. Because infant animals require more time and resources than adults, they are typically cared for off-site by staff and foster families until they are ready for adoption.

The Kitten Shower is free to attend, but donations from our registry are appreciated. HSN is registered on Amazon.com. Donations received during the event will supply us with essential items needed for the influx of kittens and get you a free raffle ticket.

Can’t attend, but still want to help? Starting May 1st, we invite you to bring in donations from our registry for incoming little ones. In-kind and monetary donations will be collected at our main shelter lobby in baby playpens during the month of May.
