Humane Society Naples hosted the second annual Guardian Circle Forum Luncheon on Thursday, February 15 at The Club Room at Campiello. The luncheon was to recognize community supporters who have demonstrated the highest order of engagement with Humane Society Naples’ mission and vision.
Three awards were presented at this year’s luncheon:
- Walter Turken Award
- Cheryl Deering and James P. Dellas Animaltarian Award
- Animal Advocate Award
The Walter Turken Award was presented to Pat Murphy, former HSN Board President and longtime volunteer of the organization. Pat led the campaign that funded the renovations to main shelter location, which now allows it to withstand a Category 5 hurricane. She is a strong supporter and advocate for the HSN Spay/Neuter program, our Compassionate Care program, and the Cozy Cat Care program, which provides funding for cats whose medical expenses may inhibit their adoption. The Walter Turken Award is the highest honor bestowed by HSN. Joining in presenting the award to the Pat were Sheila and Paul Demkovich, recipients of the award in 2023.
The Cheryl Deering and James P. Dellas Animaltarian Award was presented to Bette Ellenbogen and Linda Greenwald. Bette and Linda are longtime volunteers of Humane Society Naples who have dedicated countless hours in support of our mission. Their love for animals knows no limits and HSN is honored to say they are an important part of our family. Joining in presenting the award to Bette and Linda was Michael Ross, recipient of the award in 2023.
The Animal Advocate Award was presented to Subaru of Naples. In attendance to accept the award were Rich DeVoe and Emily Reed. Subaru of Naples has become a much-valued corporate partner of Humane Society Naples. In addition to their sponsorship of events and adoptions, HSN utilizes their gifted, leased Subaru vehicles to transport animals in need of medical attention and more.
