Humane Society Naples’ Home for the Paw-lidays is currently underway.
Home for the Paw-lidays is a foster-to-adopt program which aims to get animals out of the shelter environment and into a home for the holiday season – and hopefully into their new forever home.
“Fostering saves lives, plain and simple. Getting an animal out of the shelter and into a home, even for a brief time, is an incredible gift. It helps us learn more about how our furry friends do in a home, and most importantly, it gives them the chance to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life in a shelter and just unwind. Every dog and cat deserves a couch and a snuggle for the holidays,” says Sarah Baeckler, Executive Director at HSN.
Fostering to adopt presents an opportunity for potential adopters who are perhaps unsure of whether they are ready to introduce an animal into their lives. With this program, they are sent home with all the tools necessary to make the animal’s transition from the shelter into the home a smooth one. In addition, all dog fosters are provided with unlimited, personal dog-training sessions with the HSN Behavior Team for the duration of the fostering period.
