Hurricane Milton Update and How You Can Help

MONDAY, OCTOBER 7 – Hurricane Milton is threatening to impact Southwest Florida in a big way. Just as with Hurricane Ian, Humane Society Naples remains steadfast and ready to jump into action. We are actively monitoring the storm and making preparations to ensure all our animals are safe and comfortable. We will be transferring all animals from our Main Shelter and von Arx Adoption Center to our Oaks facility, as well as relying on volunteer foster homes. We will have around-the-clock staff on-site to care for the animals.
Adoptions will be closed through Thursday, October 10th. If you are interested in fostering, please fill out the foster application on our website: hsnaples.org/foster
In preparation for the storm, we would like to remind the community of the importance of microchipping your pets, having up-to-date vaccines and records, and to have an emergency plan in place.
We are no stranger to natural disasters, having led an unprecedented effort following Hurricane Ian to evacuate over 500 animals. But we didn’t do it alone. Our community of animal lovers stepped up and we’re asking for your support again. You can donate directly to our hurricane relief efforts at hsnaples.org/donate.
We have weathered a storm before with your help, and we’ll do it again in the name of the animals we serve.
