Out of Harm’s Way

Hurricane Michael | Humane Society Naples Non-Profit Animal Shelter Collier County

It’s 6 am and Humane Society Naples is back from Tallahassee with 37 animals from the City of Tallahassee’s Animal Service Center. The animals rescued out of Hurricane Michael’s destructive path were at risk of being euthanized. The team made up of four members, left Naples at 2 pm yesterday and arrived at the panhandle around 9:30 pm. Half of our transport was dropped off at the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County in Port Charlotte where they will be processed and placed up for adoption. The rest of the animals are in Naples resting at our intake facility after a long haul. Later today, they will be evaluated and examined. Stay tuned for when they will be available for adoption.

We are proud of the capabilities of our professional team and grateful to our donors who understand the importance of this life-saving work. For those looking to help assist our efforts, please give today. Your gift will help HSN offset growing expenses as we continue to shelter and care for pet evacuees affected by Hurricane Michael.
