Sarah Baeckler Announces Departure from Humane Society Naples

The following is a letter from Brad Jamison, President of Humane Society Naples’ Board of Directors, sharing the departure news of HSN CEO, Sarah Baeckler:
Dear Supporters of Humane Society Naples,
I am writing to share with you that Sarah Baeckler has decided to move on from her position as Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of Humane Society Naples (“HSN”). While the HSN Board of Directors (the “Board”) is saddened by Sarah’s departure, we understand and support her decision to pursue new opportunities and personal goals.
Sarah has been the driving force of HSN for nearly eight years, leading the organization with dedication, compassion, and a deep commitment to the well-being of the animals we serve. Under her leadership, HSN has made tremendous strides in advancing its mission of sheltering animals in times of need, locating life-long homes, and advocating for responsible pet ownership. During Sarah’s tenure, HSN has grown its budget from $3.5 million to $7 million serving more animals than ever with strengthened community outreach and expanded life-saving programs. The Board is incredibly grateful for Sarah’s hard work and vision, knowing that the lasting impact she has made on both our organization and the broader community will be felt for years to come.
As we prepare to bid farewell to Sarah, the search for a new CEO is already underway in consultation with an executive recruiter. The Board is committed to identifying a candidate who possesses strong leadership skills, shares our values, and is dedicated to furthering our mission to improve animal welfare. The Board is confident that our next leader will build upon the successes of our current team and continue to move HSN toward a future of growth, compassion, and positive change.
We are very pleased that Sarah has agreed to remain in her role as CEO until the correct candidate is identified and onboarded. This will ensure continuity of operations, as well as a smooth transition into the next leadership era at HSN.
The Board also wants to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued dedication to the work we do. Your ongoing commitment ensures that we can keep moving forward in our shared mission to create a more humane world for animals. Together, We Save Lives!
HSN leadership will keep you updated as we progress through this process and search for our new CEO.
On behalf of the Board and the entire team at HSN, I extend a heartfelt thank you to Sarah for her invaluable contributions to our organization. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Brad Jamison
